The Friends of the Interlaken Public Library invited community members and friends to the Interlaken Masonic Lodge upstairs hall for an evening talk by Paleo-artist John Gurche.
A published author, former anthropology professor, and current artist-in-residence at the Museum of the Earth, John is regarded as one of the foremost artists reconstructing human ancestors in the world.
His work has been featured in publications, television specials, and museums around the world, including seven National Geographic covers, USPS postal stamps, and more. He was commissioned by Steven Spielberg to create the artwork that inspired the Jurassic Park dinosaurs.
Attendees learned about John’s work on the movie Jurassic Park (1993) and his present work on early human ancestor reconstruction, and had a chance to ask questions.
